SALT Experiment
Salt Experiment—an ensemble of established and emerging professionals dedicated to expressive experimentation and artistic exchange—presents an immersive evening of music with and about birdsong.
Miniatures by young composers from Canada and abroad, inspired by local bird species, enter into audiovisual dialogue with works by Antonio Vivaldi, François Couperin, John Cage, Ottorino Respighi, Olivier Messiaen, and Toshio Hosokawa. The ensemble weaves these compositions and its own reflections into a continuous music-theatre sequence, transforming the Phillip T. Young Recital Hall into a musical bird paradise.
