Call for Projects
SALT New Music Festival 2026
The SALT New Music Festival is pleased to launch a Call for artistic proposals for its upcoming 2026 edition, planned to take place between August 26 – September 4, 2026 (dates to be confirmed).
We invite innovative, bold, and boundary-pushing projects in sound and contemporary music to be considered for inclusion in the program.
This Call is meant to offer performers, composers and producers from around the world a meaningful artistic exchange, and a matching fund-based showcase opportunity. We welcome proposals from solo artists, ensembles, and interdisciplinary collectives working in the field of new music and sound-based practices.

* The ensemble available for proposed composition projects is: Piano and keyboards; Viola; Guitar (acoustic or electric); 2 Saxophones (SSx/Asx and BSx)
Clarinet/Bass Clarinet; Optionally, the addition of 2-4 instruments can be considered. Live electronics and amplification.

Submission Deadline & Application Process
- Proposals must be submitted by 7 September 2025 at 11:59 p.m. (Vancouver Time).
- Applications must be submitted via the official online form.

Selection Criteria
- In simple terms, we are looking for projects that are already in progress, and would benefit from a co-developer or additional presenter
- Projects will be selected based on artistic merit, originality, technical feasibility, and alignment with the developing program.
- Selected proposals will be notified by 15 September 2025 via the email address provided in the application, to finalize a possible collaboration in the framework of the 2026 edition of SALT New Music Festival.
- SALT reserves the right to leave the call unawarded if necessary.
Terms & Conditions
- Open to artists of any age, nationality, or residence.
- Submissions can be individual or collaborative.
- Applicants may submit multiple proposals, but must complete a separate form for each.
- All supporting materials must be submitted via valid, non-expiring links to PDF, MP3, or MP4 files (or via streaming/distribution platforms). Files must not exceed 20MB.
- Incorrect, expired, or inaccessible links will result in automatic disqualification—we will not follow up on errors.
